Weatherhood

Description

In a city where the weather can change from block to block, Weatherhood was created to provide more than just a forecast—it provides clarity.

I led the visual identity work — designing the logo, branded merchandise, and a landing page to establish and promote their brand presence.

Logo Concept (B2C)

Weatherhood is a Vancouver-based weather app. The logo is built around one simple truth about the city: you can never quite tell if it's going to rain or shine, so you always bring your umbrella.

Yellow umbrella

Yellow signals warmth and sun — but the umbrella itself signals rain. The colour holds both possibilities at once, embodying Vancouver's weather uncertainty.

Pacific blue dome

The arching blue form references the Pacific Ocean that defines Vancouver's geography and drives its coastal weather patterns.

Two-colour system

Yellow and ocean blue work as a complementary pair — warm against cool, sunny against rainy — reflecting the duality that defines the city's climate.

Landing Page

The Weatherhood website is designed with engaging content, which clearly articulates the app's benefits and appeals to users seeking accurate, hyperlocal weather information.

It effectively highlights the potential for advertisers to reach targeted audiences through precise weather notifications, while fostering community engagement by encouraging locals to share their weather stories.

The site builds credibility by transparently explaining the app's technology and features an intuitive, modernist design for easy navigation.
